Why India?

Since returning from two weeks in India, I often get asked this common question…why India?  For me, it is more why not India? After visiting India I am now asking myself, when can I go back to this fascinating colourful amazing country. Let me start by saying, two weeks in India is definitely not enough..it is just a tiny taste test and what a taste testing it was. My youngest daughter had visited India two years earlier and somehow her appetite for adventure started my own desire to see India for myself. Together with my eldest daughter we began to plan. You may wonder why I didn’t take my husband, short story is, it was a trade off. He got a new Triumph motorcycle and I got to go on a holiday, quite fair I think and we were both happy! Doesn’t mean I didn’t miss him, however travelling with my daughter added another dimension to an adventure that was promising to live up to my anticipation. We began to independently research what we would like to see. I searched through Trip Advisor to work out the easiest way to get around, should we embark on a tour? Definitely not high on our ideas for having fun. Train it all over India? Sounded  less than amicable or should we hire a tour company, complete with driver and guide? The latter appealed the most and so much time was spent deciding who we should go with. Trip Advisor proved a great source of other people’s experiences and so I spent much time trawling and found a company that sounded perfect. I emailed one of their clients for a review and felt very comfortable. We were going to India!! Time to set dates, book leave from work and book flights!!  Let me just say I didn’t spend a lot of time looking at the weather for April, in retrospect probably not the best time of year to land in Delhi!
